OUR 8TH GRADE TEAM

2009 8th Grade Houston City Champions

As its name suggests the 8th Grade Team represents the Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club in the 8th grade division of the Greater Houston Lacrosse league. The team is mostly comprised of 8th graders from the greater Woodlands area. However in past years a few select 7th graders have been invited by the coaches to play up with the 8th graders in order to complete the team. This fact by no way should suggest that this weakens our ability to compete with the other teams in the league. Quite the contrary.

To say the team has a proud winning tradition would be somewhat of an understatement. When you view the statistics it seems more of an obsession. Aside from the team winning the annual preseason Reindeer Games; a tournament hosted by the Kingwood Youth Lacrosse Club (KYL), three of the four years of its existence (the Woodlands club wasn’t present at the inaugural tournament), we have also been successful during season play. Since 2003, the 8th Grade Boys have successfully completed three undefeated seasons and have won five Houston City Championships.
