WOODLANDS JUNIOR HIGH LACROSSE CLUB COACHES

7th & 8th Grade Teams

Coach Keith "KT" TintleHead Coach and Director, Coach Keith “KT” Tintle, grew up on Long Island, New York.  KT played attack and midfielder at Levittown Division High School and Nassau Community College, where he and the team won the NCAA Junior College National Championship in 1983.  Coach Tintle’s coaching career started in Texas in 1997, where he was Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Kinkaid when they won the Texas High School State Championship in 1997.  KT has been the Director of the Youth Lacrosse Program and Head Coach of the Junior High School teams in The Woodlands since 2003.

Coach Al ChristopherDefensive Coordinator, Al Christopher, grew up in Upstate NY.  Al played football, basketball and lacrosse at Rush-Henrietta’s Sperry High School.  He was an All-State Defensive Back in football and All State and All American defenseman in lacrosse.  In college, Al played free safety at New Mexico State University. Coach Al’s coaching career started in 2003 with the 7th & 8th grade team in The Woodlands.

In addition to the Woodlands Junior High Program’s 5 consecutive City Championships since 2005; over the past three years Coach Tintle and Coach Al have taken two local All-Star teams back East for summer tournaments. In Baltimore, 2007, the team went 5-0 and won their bracket at the Summer Exposure Tournament. In 2008, Team Houston went to Lake George, NY and compiled a 4-1 record at the US Lacrosse sponsored Summer Festival beating 3 teams representing eastern US states.

During the 2009 season the coaching tandem of Coach Tintle and Coach Al closed out the friendly confines of the “Sand Box,” (JOPA Sports complex) in true style by getting their 100th home victory with the Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club on that field. To put this into perspective the last time either of the Woodlands 7th or 8th Grade Teams lost a home game at JOPA, Will McCance was in 7th Grade. Will McCance is now a sophomore at John Hopkins University where he plays attack.
