THE HISTORY OF THE WOODLANDS JUNIOR HIGH LACROSSE CLUB

2009 Houston City Triple Crown Champions

The Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club is a proud member of Greater Houston Lacrosse (GHL), the local chapter of the national governing body of men’s and women’s lacrosse, US Lacrosse.

In 1998, what began as a single 8th Grade team, made up of multiple age groups, the Woodlands Lacrosse Club has come a long way in a little more than a decade. We are now well represented in the 8th Grade, 7th Grade, and 5th / 6th Grade ("Young Guns") divisions of the GHL league and offer the NorthStar Lacrosse Skills Development Program, a non-competitive program geared toward first time players.

The committment of the clubs coaches, players and countless volunteers over the years has evelated the Woodlands Junior high Lacrosse Club to the pinnacle of success. Our most recent accomplishment was last year when the club proudly accepted the distinction of being the first GHL club ever to win the Houston City Championship Triple Crown by winning all three competitive divisions. While it was the first year for the 5th/6th Grade Team to win the "Young Guns" Houston City Championship, it was the 5th consecutive Houston City Championship for the 8th Grade Team and the 7th Grade Team was proud to win the inaugural 7th Grade Houston City Championship.
