NORTHSTAR LACROSSE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Lacrosse Skills Development Program is a feeder program for the Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club. While not a competitive program, it focuses on development of the fundamental skills necessary to begin enjoying the sport. It is an excellent, no pressure way for first timers and novice atheletes to learn lacrosse.
First time 5th or 6th Graders who try out for but do not make the 5th & 6th Grade competitive team may participate in the NorthStar Lacrosse Skills Development Program.
Unlike years past, this year we have to offer two different sessions of the NorthStar program due to the overwhelming initial interest. The groups are broken up according to grades. The group in which your son belongs corresponds to the group in which contains the grade in which your son is currently registered for the 2010 Spring school semester. The two groups are as follows:

Please note that no matter the grade group all participants must first register with and be a member of US Lacrosse, the national governing body of youth lacrosse. There are sevelral benefits you get with your $25 Annual US Lacrosse membership:
- Insurance for supervised practices and games, with deductibles for youth players reduced to $250.
- Access to participate in US Lacrosse special events, including the U-13 and U-15 National Youth Festivals and future U-15 boys' and girls' regional and national tournaments.
- US Lacrosse monthly publication, Lacrosse magazine (inlcudes six youth issues)
- Access to the US Lacrosse online coaches’ directory which helps members contact high school and college coaches directly through the US Lacrosse web site
In addition, all participants are responsible for providing their own equipment and full equipment must be worn at all sessions. This includes:

- Lacrosse Arm Pads
- Lacrosse Gloves
- Lacrosse Stick
- Mouth Guard
- Athlectic Cup
