NORTHSTAR LACROSSE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: 4th - 6th GRADE

NorthStar Lacrosse Skills Development ProgramOffered to boys from 4th - 6th grade, the NorthStar Lacrosse Skills Development Program is a feeder program for the Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club. The program guides players through the fundamentals of lacrosse, helping them discover the skills necessary to begin enjoying the sport. It is an excellent, no pressure way for first timers and novice athletes to learn lacrosse.

Over the course of three and a half months players will have the opportunity to learn from the areas best coach and compete amongst each other twice a week.

Program events include:

12 Skills and Drills Sessions

Through group instruction and drill participation players will learn the proper fundamentals of lacrosse including but not limited to; catching, passing, throwing, cradling and fielding ground balls.

9 Intra-Squad Box Games

Players will be broken up into equal size teams and compete against one another in outdoor box lacrosse games on the second meeting of each week, putting into practice what they’ve learned the previous skills session.

2 Showcases

Players will also get the opportunity to feel the excitement of playing a competitive game in front of family and friends on two different occasions throughout the program. These games will take place at the same venue and immediately prior to the Woodlands Junior High Lacrosse Club’s competitive games. It’s a great opportunity not only for the younger new players to see the older more experience players play in a real competitive lacrosse game but also to have the older more experience players there to support the aspirations of the new young players by coming out to cheer them.

1 Round Robin Tournament

To close out the season the NorthStar teams will compete in a one day round robin tournament to crown the program’s winning team.

Additional Items

In addition to the events, participants will also receive:

Program Administrator

Coach Keith TintleThe program will be run by Coach Keith Tintle.
